Oh Dear God

Heal this broken world.

Thank You for the moments of light in the midst of darkness.

Bring resolutions, glorifying You, to those in Libya, Egypt, Iran….

Close the divisive gap in Wisconsin, Indiana and all over this country of ours.

Oh dear God,

Save us…..from ourselves.

Teach us lessons and make it hurt.

Bring the pain….so we might remember Who is in control.

Bring Yourself glory…cuz frankly, we’re not up to the challenge.

Oh dear God,

The reality is you are God, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Creator of ALL things.

Smack us with a reality check. Show us how truly unimportant we are to us.

For without You as priority #1, what are we living for.

Without You, the answer to that is irrelevant.

Oh dear God, I love You.

Make me live like it.

Amen

Testimony Tuesday–Caleb Manley

Hey Toby I wanted to tell you my story and testimony although I don’t really know how to do it, I’ll try for ya.

Through my life, when I was little, I never went to church. The only time I went to church was with my Grandma Janet. So that’s what I did. My parents didn’t go to church at all but they are still followers. They just pray to Him at home instead of a church. But since my uncle Toby and Aunt Ria started going to a church called Maryland, all I heard was good things about it. So I tried it out. It was AWESOME!! The music

they play is cool, the pastor is nice and cool, there’s just not to much to say negative about that place. I decided to become a follower of Christ when I heard that Toby and Ria were going to be moving to Germany. One reason was because I felt that I was ready and that I needed to make my commitment to God. My other reason was so I could not only make my family proud but also Toby because he was my other father figure in my life and when he wasn’t preaching to me about his Steelers he was trying to get me closer to God. So I was baptized by Toby January 13, 2008 and that was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Now a days I find myself drifting away from God. I want to be with Him but somehow there’s something always coming up. But I’ve been trying to get there as much as I can. I know that if I give just a little more effort, I will walk with god in heaven.

Testimony Tuesday–Connie/My Mom

Today we continue Testimony Tuesday with a written testimony from my Mom. If you read this blog often, you’ve noticed me mention that I tend to cry a lot . Well, I am honored, proud, floored and, yes, again, crying after reading this one. I love you Mom!!

Do we choose Christ..or does Christ choose us..I am not sure I can be classified as a ‘Born Again Christian’. I have always believed in God. I have always prayed. I have always given God the credit and thanks for the good things in my life..I attended church regularly as a child…But, I never really knew ‘The Way of the Cross. I married very young, became a mother very young, and became a single parent very young also..I have spent most of my life caught up in just getting by. I didn’t go to church on Sunday, or get my children in the church, because I worked every Sunday..I knew I was letting God down, but I felt He understood..I was busy..I retired 3 years ago, but still didn’t really make time for God, or church. Then I started attending church with my kids, Toby and Ria..I found myself quickly filled with the Holy Spirit..It was like…BAM..I suddenly realized God had been trying to pull me back into the fold for years. I just didn’t give Him the chance..I’m not a Born again Christian..I am a Christian finally, because I never really was..You need to be active in Christ to be a Christian..I believe so anyway. You should attend church, whether it be a building or online, to hear the Word, and continue to learn about God. You need to let His music fill your heart and soul. How else can we carry on the Word. I didn’t choose Christ, He chose me, and waited many years for me to accept His invitation..Christ has given me faith, hope, and confidence..I could have avoided so many years of struggle, if I had only let Him in..But, I firmly believe it is never too late..He is waiting for each of us..He wants to give us each, undying love..He wants to make a place for us by his side for eternity..We have to earn that place..The road won’t always be easy, but the reward will be Glorious…
