Why do I assume you forgot?  Cuz I did and all of the chatter that went with it is now gone.  Funny how that works, isn’t it.  We get all jacked up about a cause or an idea and then a few days goes by and

IT’S GONE!

A few months back, there was this thing called Lifeshare.  To be honest, I don’t even remember what it was all about.  Sure I could look it up and act like I have it all together, but that’s cheating.  I do remember a few things we were ALL going to do as a result of lifeshare though.

• Do a Google Blog Search and enter terms like “I hate God” or “life sucks” or something that would allow you to know they were in need of Jesus, and then go comment on their blog and start a conversation.
• Get on Skype and pray with someone
• Do a Twitter search for the same terms in the first point.  Twitter has blown up since then and NOW would be a great time for this.
• Make a Facebook or MySpace event and invite 50 of your friends to an online church event.
• Record your testimony and put it on YouTube.  Yeah, at that point I was already doing Testimony Tuesday, but I’m sure they thought they were original with that idea .

How easy is it in what I call our “2 second society” to forget?  Sometimes we try to do good things and have good intentions, but we have so many of them that the really good ideas get passed over to get to the next one.

I HATE THAT!

So, today I have entered in my iCal a daily reminder to do all of these things.  No, I won’t create an event every day, but I will attempt to make contact with someone who is struggling EVERY DAY!  I ask that you join me….and this time

KEEP IT UP!

Don’t forget tomorrow.  It’s freakin ridiculous how Jesus becomes so unimportant because of something else.  Then, to justify it, we label it as Godly so we can excuse forgetting.

I’m sick of it with myself and I’m sick of it with you.  I don’t know how many hundreds of times I’ve read something that was gonna start and I’m all giddy and excited and then these bloggers don’t follow through.  DUDE, it’s one thing to be miserably inconsistent in your own little bubble, but don’t advertise on your blog to the world and not follow through.  I mean, COME ON….that’s common sense, right?

Enough talk—Time for ACTION!

I subscribe to about 50 different blogs.  After I get the kid to school and fix the little one something to eat, the next hour is dedicated to Google Reader.  I rarely get through them all in that hour.  Today I want to give you my Top Ten.  If you come here often, you’ve probably heard of and read some of them, but nonetheless, here ya go.  Let me start by saying Ragamuffinsoul is not on the list because I assume everyone and their brother already knows about Carlos.

10. Swerve–This is the blog of lifechurch.tv.  Craig, Bobby, Terry and crew always have something to say that impacts my life.  I can’t say that about every blog I read.

9. Weblog Tools Collection–Not really a blog, but for you wordpressers, this is a must subscribe to keep up to date with plugins, updates, etc.

8. Perry Noble–I had never heard of this guy or his church 6 months ago, but some of the most insightful “Bible stuff” you’ll come across.  Knows how to deliver a message also!!

7. Pete Wilson—Pete’s blog, Without Wax, will make you bring your thinkin cap.  Pete makes me think, which may or may not be a good thing that early in the mornin .  Pete also has hundreds of commenters that are thought-provoking.

6. Scot Longyear—Scot is the pastor at our home church in Indiana.  I owe a lot of my ability and desire to walk with Christ to Scot’s style of teaching.  Awesome guy to boot!

5. Abbi Z—From life to love to fitness to God…Never a dull moment here. This is one I will save to make sure I have time to read it all.

4. Andy McMahon–Let me tell ya…For a “rookie blogger” this guy has “it”.  Get a glimpse into the life of a Jesus lover who came a long way to get there.  Awesome words from an awesome heart!

3. Compassion Dave—Sure I do this Compassion thing once a week, but Dave is at it every day!  Many Kudos to the heart of a man who will go to such lengths to help children in need—-In Jesus name!

2. Mercy Me–These last two could be a toss up for me.  I will skip the other 49 if I see there is a post here.  If you haven’t checked out Cover Tune Grab Bag, you have no idea what you’re missing.  Subscribe to this one and get ready to laugh, cry, sing and praise …all in one blog!!

1. Whittaker Woman–If Heather and Mercy Me updated and I only had time to read one, I may just cancel what I had to do and read both .  I don’t even have anything concrete to tell ya here other than every word on her blog gets me a little more addicted.  Maybe it’s just “LIFE”.  Yep, that’s it.  The life of a Mom, her husband and 3 kids, spelled out every day, right there.  I love it.  Not to mention, she’s a SMOKIN HOT BLOGGER! Carlos is a lucky man .  (see, my wife doesn’t blog, so I can say that without sleeping on the couch)

Go check em all out…Tell em I sent ya .

Why fast?  The idea is to take something you think that you need and replace it with prayer.  Tomorrow I will go to the Lord when I get hungry.  Now, I’m a big boy so I could be praying all day long, but that’s the point folks!  Now then, I don’t care if you’re fasting from food, internet, cigarettes, caffeine or sex…Just do without it for 24 hours and when ya feel the itch for it, PRAY.  Pray, and not for you, not for the strength to get through the day…Pray for those who have NOTHING.  Pray for those who aren’t eating today either, but they’re not fasting by choice.  Take “SELF” out of the picture for a day and lift those who are suffering up to the Lord.  Spend the day checking out any of the blogs in the list below, adopt a child through Compassion or any of the groups/organizations listed in those blogs.  Send them $10, $50, $100.  Do something!

Remember this?  Man, it seems like a million years ago.  Nevermind what you think of Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, or anyone else in the video.  They were trying to make a difference.  What happened to that passion?  What happened to us?  Are we so caught up in playstation 3 and so selfish that we can’t stop for a minute and think of how truly blessed we all are?  The fact that you sit here, in front of a computer, tells me you have more than most.  It’s just as simple as the phrase repeated over and over in that song…WE, yes, you and I…We ARE the World!  We can make a brighter day for someone…Just you and me!  One person at a time people.  Start today! Start now! We’re saving our own lives!!
