My Head er Itches

Facebook and RSS readers, come to the site cuz ya can’t see the awesomeness from there.

Check out the new header (that big banner up top).  Thanks to Russ Hutto for the design.  If you haven’t checked out his stuff, click his name and do that now.  He’s a musical, design and blog genius!

What is in that header you ask?

Well, I’ll let Russ tell ya:

1) Wanted something a little earthy and organic feeling. Not that you come across as a hippie or anything, but I felt like something earthy would really paint a good picture of the ultimate question and title of your blog: What’s This Life For?

2) Went with a stone path. The stone is earthy, the grass is earthy, etc. The path signifies “life” in the we’re all on a journey sense. But I wanted it to feel more personal, like the paths we choose daily, instead of corporate or industrial like a highway or a city street. So the earthy path was my final direction.

3) Added in A LOT of textures. You can’t really pick them out, but there’s some clouds overlaid in there and some really crackly stuff ( you can probably pick up on that). Bottom line: just wanted it to feel like you could dig your hands into it and come back with them dirty (in a good sense). Ya know like digging into this question “What’s This Life For?”

See ya’all think these design gurus open up PhotoShop and get er done in a minute or two.  Maybe some do, but Russ obviously puts some thought into who it’s for and where it’s going.  Never mind the rad design, I appreciate the thought process just as much, if not more.  Why?  Cuz he gets it! In a world of horrid customer service and ZERO personal attention, Russ is the exception!
