Daily Update

Update in a minute….First, I’m pretty sure I’ve been told 100 times in the past 3 days that “everything happens for a reason.” I have no doubt that is true. I have already learned of a few things and I’m sure as time passes, God will share the other reasons for Chaya’s fall. I’m praying the closeness I witnessed between Gabriel and Chaya tonight is not short lived. It was honestly the first time in a very long time that if I were a stranger, I would have known they are related. They loved on each other and Gabe laid with her in her hospital bed and watched Cinderella with her and let her hug and kiss on him. That NEVER happens
. We are definitely blessed with the results we have.

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NLT
For three years I’ve been taking classes, majoring in religion. I like to think I know my stuff. I can preach it and be pretty convincing on how YOU should live YOUR life. Me? My life? Not so much. I mean, God has brought me out of the pits and, by no means, do I live like I did 10 years ago, but I don’t run with purpose in every step. I could do a lot better and God has convicted me through this incident to do just that. Specifically, I don’t pay nearly as close attention to my kids as I should. Do I blame myself for what happened? No…I know I can’t have my eyes on them 24 hours a day. But I can do better. I can be more involved. Instead of “daddy is busy”, I can lift my big butt out of this chair and go “play”. And I will! Guarantee it! Up to this point, I’m pretty sure if the race was over, I would be disqualified. Would you?
Now then: For those who may have missed it, I’ll put the videos from today below, along with some a few pics I took with the phone. Chaya had a good day. After the whole day being told that she was being moved out of ICU in 30 minutes, about 7 hours later, she was actually moved. She is now resting in her own room, where Ria has a bed and Elijah has a crib for when and if he stays. Nursing mom’s understand that it’s quite painful for babies to be away for that long.
The head doctor told me today, “it’s like a used car….looks good on the outside, but you want to make sure the inside is ok before you buy it.” She is acting fine, but I appreciate the precaution being taken, making sure the fracture is under control before sending her home.
That’s about it for today. If you could pray for the days to come, that would be great. I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but my classes started Monday and tonight will be the first time I’ve looked at either class. Gabe starts school this coming Monday, Ria goes back to work this coming Monday and Chaya is supposed to start preschool the following Monday. Needless to say, things were going to be a bit crazy before any of this. Now, I’m sure there will be lots of follow-up doctors visits to come to add on to everything else. Oh, did I mention I will be caring for a 5 week old too? Yeah, I’m glad I’m not the manic depressive type, but prayers are appreciate nonetheless!
Thank you all!!
Here’s the pics and vids from today.
