Ok, so last night Ria says to me, “my belly has been tight all day” and “it hurts when I walk” and “the baby has already dropped” and “I really don’t think I’m going to go another 6 weeks.” Well, she’s done this a couple of times and I’m guessing she knows her body better than I do…..better than the doctors do. They set the due date for July 17, but Ria is thinking early July….if that long. So, I go into a mode where I’m processing 1,000 thoughts a second, trying to mentally prepare myself for what is to come. I thought I would share with you some of those thoughts:
- I wonder if my iPhone will work in the hospital….I’d really like to broadcast this via Qik.
- Make sure camera and camcorder are easily accessible.
- Wow, this is gonna make a nice blog post.
- No sex til September….(I know….maybe TMI….but hey, my thoughts, my blog
) - Make sure I got this math right….It’s June now and no sex….let’s say she goes til July 10th…no sex…..supposed to wait 6 weeks, which in RIAnese is more like 8 weeks…..Yeah, no sex til September.
- Wow, that sucks!
- Enough about SEX, uhhhhh I need to practice NOT SLEEPING.
- Oh, I am practicing not sleeping, laying here thinking.
- Ok, FOCUS Toby!
- Gabe’s labor was 36 hours, but there was no rush to the hospital….Chaya was scheduled to be induced…..What if I have to RUSH???
- At least she’ll be able to relax in a nice roomy VAN!!
- Or maybe I can put her in the back row of seats so that her screaming, “THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” won’t be quite as loud.
- I wonder if we have any duct tape?? SCRATCH THAT…that’s just mean!
- Ok, why ya stressin boy?! You’ve done this a few times….Your part is EASY! Roll over ya MORON and give her a massage.
Ok, I fell asleep at that point…..it was a nice thought though! It’s the thought that counts, right?
