Do You Remember LifeShare

I could make the next 5 days Friday Reflections with all the craziness going through my head, but today I would like for you to remember what you have probably forgotten.

Why do I assume you forgot?  Cuz I did and all of the chatter that went with it is now gone.  Funny how that works, isn’t it.  We get all jacked up about a cause or an idea and then a few days goes by and

IT’S GONE!

A few months back, there was this thing called Lifeshare.  To be honest, I don’t even remember what it was all about.  Sure I could look it up and act like I have it all together, but that’s cheating.  I do remember a few things we were ALL going to do as a result of lifeshare though.

  • Do a Google Blog Search and enter terms like “I hate God” or “life sucks” or something that would allow you to know they were in need of Jesus, and then go comment on their blog and start a conversation.
  • Get on Skype and pray with someone
  • Do a Twitter search for the same terms in the first point.  Twitter has blown up since then and NOW would be a great time for this.
  • Make a Facebook or MySpace event and invite 50 of your friends to an online church event.
  • Record your testimony and put it on YouTube.  Yeah, at that point I was already doing Testimony Tuesday, but I’m sure they thought they were original with that idea:-).

How easy is it in what I call our “2 second society” to forget?  Sometimes we try to do good things and have good intentions, but we have so many of them that the really good ideas get passed over to get to the next one.

I HATE THAT!

So, today I have entered in my iCal a daily reminder to do all of these things.  No, I won’t create an event every day, but I will attempt to make contact with someone who is struggling EVERY DAY!  I ask that you join me….and this time

KEEP IT UP!

Don’t forget tomorrow.  It’s freakin ridiculous how Jesus becomes so unimportant because of something else.  Then, to justify it, we label it as Godly so we can excuse forgetting.

NO MORE!

I’m sick of it with myself and I’m sick of it with you.  I don’t know how many hundreds of times I’ve read something that was gonna start and I’m all giddy and excited and then these bloggers don’t follow through.  DUDE, it’s one thing to be miserably inconsistent in your own little bubble, but don’t advertise on your blog to the world and not follow through.  I mean, COME ON….that’s common sense, right?

Enough talk—Time for ACTION!

I like this idea, Toby. I am going to be realistic though, I know for a fact that I can bite off more than I can chew. I do it all the time. I like the first bullet point. Now I have to figure out how often I will be doing it. I know you mentioned daily, but I have to be realistic. Thanks for a great share!

I am with you.. Tired of thinking about action, and now taking action. To much to gain, nothing to lose.

    Thanks Toby….

Peace and love to you. In Christ

Totally identifying with everything here…esp the more than I can chew stuff :$

But we can change the world…if we are strategic about it as you say Toby… Jesus is the Master Strategist.

    Let's do this!

For me, I have GREAT intentions, BUT have adult ADHD lol…My mind is ALWAYS going 100 miles an hour and never stops, that is why I have a hard time sleeping…It NEVER turns off….thoughts wake me up…Just as I am "about" to act, FEAR sets in…I SECOND guess everything and will go do something else so I don't have "time" to do what I should have :) …I came up w/ THINK F.R.O.G.S., for my friends who lost heir little boy to a drowning accident, and got so scared of FAILURE that I just quit and passed it off to them, it still sits w/NOTHING going on…I still have TONS of "ideas" for it but sometimes turning ideas into reality can be tough :) So all that to say, I HEAR YA MAN :) ….

Hey, I hear ya! Reality sometimes creeps between what we do and what we WANT to do. I won't do all of those things daily, but will make it a point to do one of them a day. Of course there may be days where I don't get to it, but I'm gonna try to limit those.
The simple fact that you're going to put some effort into trying speaks volumes.

Tam, you are freakin awesome!! And I'm glad this challenged you. I truly, with all of my heart, believe together we can change the world….ALL in His name! One lost soul at a time!
