Congrats! Way to make it happen! I started about 5 weeks ago and I'm proud to say that I'm down about 15 lbs.

    Keep it up!

Thanks Russ!! I'm not at the pace I originally intended to be at, but better slow then none! 15 lbs. in 5 weeks is pretty impressive. I've been doing this about 5 months @ 22 lbs :-) .
    Have a great weekend!

22 lbs is awesome too! Fortunately for me, my wife and I are doing this together and when we jumped in we went headfirst! We try and walk at least a half hour 6 days a week and our food "lifestyle" changed in a HUGE way. Smaller portions, more meals throughout the day. She's down 11 lbs. And this is without a seriously intense workout regimen. I'm guessing if we added in weight training we could probably amp that weight loss up a bit…

It's actually been good all around. Our budget is happier and we look forward to Sundays – our "free day" where we get to go out to eat and east a little of the good stuff.

We still drink water or teas (staying away from that carbonated stuff)…but we eat a burger, mexican, or whatever. I've only had one soft drink in 4 weeks. It made me feel terrible about 12 minutes after I drank it HAHA! And it was an absent minded grab at our superbowl party the other night. I didn't mean to drink it I just grabbed it and started drinking it like I used to…then it hit me! No soft drinks!! Haha.

I feel your pain on the soft drinks. I once had a dentist try and refer me to an addiction specialist because I drank so much Pepsi. I had some severe migraines when I quit and now only drink a few a week. That WAS when I noticed the weight drop quicker.
I wish my wife and I could do this together, but she's pregnant, so that's out :-) . We have a bad habit of inconsistent grocery buying. We'll buy enough for a week and then not get a chance to get to the store and we're at Taco Bell and Burger King a lot. We are getting out of that habit now though and I plan to see more improvements as we move along. I just need to put it all together and watch the pounds fall off. That's the most irritating thing….I know what works and still have trouble.
This extra accountability is nice though. Every little bit helps!

    Way to go…..

Fantastic Toby! I'll bet you are drop dead gorgeous in that awesome jacket. Ok, now that I have given you the big head I'll leave the rest of your world to suffer your "attitude" LOL Seriously, I am so proud of you and I am sorry to hear you were sick.
I sure wish you would get rid of the smokes before the new baby gets here. That gives you time enough to convince yourself of all the reasons to quit. I'm never satisfied am I. always wanting something more.lol Keep it up and your children will grow up with good habits and not have to go through what you are suffering through right now. Anyway the chances are better for them to keep good habits if they have them as they grow. Some people pick up bad habits no matter what. Not anyone we know of course……………………..

I can always count on you for the ego boost. Ria says "that's all he needs." HA!

Toby: This vid is GREAT. Especially the "background" haha!
Just wandering around your blog. So far so good!

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Pastor_T Pastor_T

Thanks for wandering!!! People were complaining about me blogging about the Steelers so much, so I stopped…can't help it if they conspicuously end up in the background of a video :-) .

Dude, I can see a difference that 22 pounds has made. Lookin good!

    • http://intensedebate.com/people/Pastor_T Pastor_T

Thanks Adam! You keepin the pounds off?

      • http://adamriggins.com Adam

yeh. I've been keeping steady at a 45 pound loss. I haven't fully gotten back on the wagon since Christmas. It's been hard!

  • http://intensedebate.com/people/Pastor_T Pastor_T

Well, 45 pounds is freakin phenomenal! I guess they're not kidding when they say it's a life change, not a diet change. It's definitely difficult to avoid falling back into the same patterns that got me fat to begin with :-) .
Keep us updated over on this side of the blog world!
