Homeschool, Evolution, Creation, Failure & Babies

The category name says it all.  There is no rhyme or reason to these posts.  Just thoughts that have been banging around in my head.

  • Do you homeschool your kids? I have been thinking seriously about it.  Not sure I have what it takes, but the classes I’m currently taking makes me want to start tomorrow.  I’m taking History of Life and Philosophy.  These two classes may sound different, but it’s basically the same class from different angles.  Both highlight the fact that public schools teach and preach evolution.  I don’t get it and I don’t want my kids taught that crap.  Scientifically, it makes no sense; realistically, it makes no sense; Biblically, it makes ZERO sense.  I could go on and on, but just tell me if you homeschool and why or why not.
  • In my opinion, part of the problem with the evolution/creation debate is there are LOTS and LOTS of evolutionists preaching, but if you ask a pastor, he clams up and avoids the question.  What’s up with that? I’m kinda left with thinking either they have reservations about it themselves or they don’t know enough to talk about it.  Don’t give me that crap about it’s not your job to debate or to answer those questions. I’ve heard that way too many times from pastors.  I would suggest you check out the beginning of the Book of James.
  • Do you have goals?  Have you been procrastinating about doing something?  Trying to lose weight, write a book, write some songs, design something, get good grades, be a better Mom or Dad?  GO HERE and join a community of people sharing goals.  It’s called Our Creative Community and I think it’s an awesome idea and another way to get that desparately needed accountability partner.  Check it out.
  • Lots of new stuff about to take place at FBC Live.  New server, new sound, new look.  Not ready yet, but STAY TUNED!!
  • For the first time in my “college career”, I failed a test. I have no excuses or anything else to add, just trying to be transparent.  Things are not always as easy as they seem.
  • Ria had a doctor’s appointment yesterday.  All is well with her and Pinky.  She’s gaining weight and although she despises that fact, I would imagine it’s a good thing.  Next appointment is on Feb. 25, and we should find out if Pinky is a girl or boy.  Then, the NAME GAME will be on again. <Go there if you haven’t voted yet:-).
  • I really struggled to put together those thoughts and I don’t have anymore.  All I know is 4 hours seems to go by very quickly when it refers to sleep.

Give me some help in the above questions, if ya will, in the comment section.  Thanks!!

I do home school. WHY? A lot of reasons but here are a few of them
    1. I realized that Dod schools were 1 year behind Texas schools, that bothered me!!
    2. The change in my son when he began school, but now he has changed again with home school so I don't know what the less of 2 evils really is :)
    3. I felt like my kids were spending the majority of their day being raised by a "school" that did not have the same beliefs I had and that bothered me. I mean they were home at 3:25 and then went to bed at 7:30 or 8:00, the school had more time than I did.

    4. Military children seem to be the least disciplined children in the world and I did not want my children to think they could act that way. Yes I know dads are a way a lot etc. and I feel completly horrible BUT they still have to learn to behave.
    5. Wow I really could go on and on but I will stop b/c there are a 100 things I could now list on the other side of the fence too….the grass is not always as GREEN as you think. Home school has some negative things too….
    6. We transfered the kids from Dod to Faith, while it was good, its EXPENSIVE :)
    7. The home school science is AWESOME, disproves evolution, I think I found it more interesting than Paige did lol

Yes, it's that evolution teaching that worries me, but I'm pretty confident I can counter that. Oh and to say Faith (or any private Christian school for that matter) is expensive is an understatement. It would take every dime I made working there, plus some to pay for it. Ria isn't a general yet, so that will have to wait :-) . I hear horror stories from both sides…not sure what we'll do. Homeschooling isn't exactly cheap either…Ok, I could just scream!
