Mail For Heroes

Tis the season TO GIVE!

This is MAD Monday where I highlight an organization or a way for YOU to Make A Difference.

Today I would like to focus on Holiday Mail For Heroes. <Click that link to check it out.  Pretty simple, right?  This can be as simple as writing a letter, sending some pictures, or maybe a teddy bear.  You can click here for more ideas from squidoo.com.  The holiday mail site is sponsored by the American Red Cross and we know they do awesome things for our soldiers.

A few weeks back we got 2 big boxes in the mail from a friend of Ria’s family.  The boxes were full of STUFF….shampoo, soaps, towels, etc.  She sent them to us so Ria could give them to single soldiers at her clinic.  That was AWESOME!! They may not be in Iraq, but they are in a foreign country and will be away from everyone they love this holiday season.

Click the pic or any of the links above and take today to get MAD and Make A Differnce in the life of a soldier who makes a living making a difference in yours.

I have been a part of sending things to Soldiers, and it means so much to them. I rotate things I give to depending what is going on at work or church. This year at work instead of having the Secret Santa gifts to our co-workers we all decided to each bring in some food and donate to the food bank, and another dept was collecting toys for tots, so I was involved with those. It is a good feeling to know you can make a difference in some small way. If every one did one small thing it would make a HUGE difference.

I wish that people would send my brother things like that. People really do forget about our soldiers in other parts of the world. They don't have to be in a war zone to deserve care packages and recognition from the people who they dedicate their lives to serve. I'm proud of all our men and women in uniform who serve me and the rest of the people in the country I love and value.

I wanted to say that in my post, but didn't want to seem like I was against sending things to Iraq. They obviously need it too, but there are soldiers ALL OVER who could use a lift up!! Thanks to you for getting it done!!
